USDA Opens 2017 Hurricane and Fire Disaster Assistance Application
Signup is now open for the USDA’s 2017 Wildfires and Hurricanes Indemnity Program, or “WHIP.” The program provides agricultural producers affected by 2017’s hurricanes and wildfires may apply for assistance to help recover and rebuild their farming operations. Sign up began July 16 and continues through November 16, 2018.
Qualifying producers who have not previously participated in a USDA program will need to check in with their local service center. To find that location and for detailed information about WHIP, go to https://www.farmers.gov/recover/whip.
