The 2019 Farm and Food Leadership Conference takes place on the beautiful campus of Texas State University in San Marcos, situated on the banks of the San Marcos River. In addition to its Agriculture Department, which offers graduate and undergraduate degrees, the school is home to a student-run sustainable farm, a vast network of trails, and the Meadows Center for Water and Environment.

DIRECTIONS: The conference will be on the Texas State University campus. Monday’s & Tuesday’s sessions will be at the LBJ Student Center, 3rd floor, located at 109 Student Center Dr., San Marcos. Check-in on Monday begins at 7:30 a.m., and the Welcome Address begins at 8:30.  This is a different building than the pre-conference workshops were at!

Conference parking will be in the Matthews Street Garage on the 3rd floor and above. Do not park in Red/Reserved spaces on the first two floors. Attendees must enter the LBJ Student Center through the back entrance at the bus loop. Volunteers and signage will be available to help direct you.

PARKING:  Parking is included in your registration fee, but you need to print a parking pass before you come!  You should have gotten an email on Friday, August 9, with the link and instructions for how to get a parking pass. If you did not receive that email, or have any questions, contact Katie at smallproducers@txstate.edu.

 

**PARKING FOR MONDAY NIGHT’S BANQUET will be at the JCK Lot on Moon Street, anytime after 5 p.m. You must display your printed parking pass. Do NOT park in any space with a sign that indicates it’s reserved. If you prefer to leave your vehical in the Matthews Street Garage, you can – just be aware that the walk back will be up a steep hill.

Lodging

The block of rooms we reserved at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel, just 2 miles from campus, has been released, but you can find out if anything remains available at the “Farm & Food Leadership Conference” rate. The phone number is (512) 754-6621.
