Where do your elected officials stand?

The real test of whether an elected official has been listening to the people is how they vote on the issues.  Below are links to votes on anti-NAIS bills.

Remember that a legislator can always change his or her mind!  So if your legislator voted on our side of the issue, be sure to call or send an email saying "Thank you."  They need to know that their constituents notice when they do the right thing!  And if your legislator voted against us, then contact his or her office and ask why.  Work on educating the legislator so that they vote the right way next time.

State Legislators

April 2007: Texas Representatives voted to approve HB 461.  Texas law currently authorizes the state agency to make NAIS mandatory at any time.  HB 461 woul have removed the agency's authority to make NAISmandatory, thereby limiting it to a voluntary program only.  HB 461 also provided protections against coercion and misleading information being used to force people into the program.  See how your legislator voted at: http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/hjrnl/80r/pdf/80RDAY62FINAL.PDF#page=71

 Federal Legislators

May 2006: U.S. House of Representatives' vote on the Ron Paul Amendment.  This amendment would have stopped federal funding of NAIS, so we wanted legislators to vote "Yes."  http://libertyark.net/roll184.htm
